The weather has finally agreed to smarten up and it looks like it's just in time for this weekend's numerous Canada Day events and celebrations!The big event The Best of Calgary NW is of course focusing on is the official start to the 2011 Calgary Stampeders regular season as our hometown heroes take on the Toronto Argonauts. It's a clash of last season's lowest-scoring team vs. the league's highest scoring squad...you know which side of the scale we were on. Despite the anemic scoring stats the Boatmen did turn things around last season sporting an even 9-9 record and splitting their two games with the Stamps, so coming out of the gate fresh it will be a good test for Hufnagel and company.
If the attraction of the Big Red Machine stomping all over the Double-Blue isn't incentive enough, then make sure to make a day of it and come out to the Canada Day Kickoff Pre-Game Bash open to all ticket holders and taking place across the parking lot at Foothills Stadium from 4-6 PM.
The Pre-Game Bash has all the required ingredients for a great afternoon; live music, great BBQ, the Outriders and Stampeders Alumni appearances. Your only way into the party is with your game day ticket so if you don't have one go out and get yourself one!
